Aug-28-2026

Indian rupee has shown mild strength against US dollar on Friday amid fall in crude oil prices. Initially, the rupee opened on a weaker note as investors remined cautious ahead of US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium, which could provide some cues on Fed’s interest rate trajectory. However, over the course of the session rupee managed to close at 95.43. On the global front, euro has weakened against US dollar on Friday after inflation data from France and Spain showed renewed price pressures.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.43 (Provisional), strengthened by 2 paise from its previous close of 95.45 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.57 and 95.31 respectively.
