Indian rupee strengthens against US dollar on Tuesday
Aug-25-2026

Indian rupee has strengthened against US dollar on Tuesday as Brent crude oil prices declined by over 2% to below the $90 a barrel mark. Further, renewed capital inflows from foreign institutional investors (FIIs) into Indian markets have uplifted the market sentiments. FIIs were the net buyers on Monday’s session, buying securities worth Rs 1,181.66 crore. Besides, investors remained optimistic as Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal said India is working towards becoming a $30 trillion economy by 2047 and highlighted India’s strong macroeconomic fundamentals and growing attractiveness as a long-term investment destination during his engagement with senior leaders of leading Japanese financial and investment institutions in Tokyo. On the global front, Australian dollar has weakened against US dollar on Tuesday as Reserve Bank of Australia’s August meeting minutes sparked caution among market participants.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.44 (Provisional), strengthened by 26 paise from its previous close of 95.70 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.74 and 95.40 respectively.
