Rupee weakens marginally against US dollar on Tuesday
Jun-17-2025
The Indian rupee weakened marginally against the US dollar on Tuesday tracking weak domestic equities, rise in global crude oil prices, and a stronger dollar overseas. Moreover, foreign fund outflows and ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel have also dampened rupee sentiments. Foreign institutional investors offloaded equities worth Rs 2,539.42 crore on a net basis on Monday, exchange data showed. However, likely dollar sales by the Reserve Bank of India near the 86.20 level helped contain losses in the currency.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 86.05, weaker by 1 paise from its previous close of 86.04 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 86.0950 and 85.89 respectively.
