Rupee appreciates against dollar on Wednesday amid foreign fund inflows
Jun-11-2025

Indian rupee appreciated against the US dollar on Wednesday, supported by strong foreign fund inflows and a weak American currency against major rivals overseas. According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought equities worth Rs 2,301.87 crore on June 10, 2025. Traders took support as Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the proposed bilateral trade agreement between India and the US will provide both the countries with an opportunity to expand and strengthen trade ties. On the global front, euro strengthened against other major currencies in the European session on Wednesday amid increased risk-on mood, as investors monitored the latest updates from Sino-U.S. talks and awaited crucial U.S. inflation data for direction.

Finally, the rupee ended at 85.53 (Provisional), appreciated by 04 paise from its previous close of 85.57 on Tuesday. The currency touched a high and low of 85.56 and 85.42 respectively.
