Rajiv Kumar wants job post-retirement: Arvind Kejriwal attacks CEC on 'Yamuna poison' row
Jan-30-2025

AAP National Convenor and the former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticised the Election Commission's decision to dismiss his Yamuna 'poison' plea for lack of evidence, claiming that CEC Rajiv Kumar is favouring the BJP as he is looking for a post-retirement job.

Speaking to media persons, Arvind Kejriwal said, ‘I want to say ECI, with respect, they (ECI) can't see money being distributed openly in Delhi. They cannot see blankets being distributed in the city.... ECI is doing politics because Rajiv Kumar wants a job post-retirement. I want to say to Rajiv Kumar that history will not forgive you. Rajiv Kumar has made a mess of the poll body’.

Further lashing out, Kejriwal said if the Chief Election Commissioner wants to do politics, then he should ‘Delhi polls from a constituency’. AAP National Convenor’s remarks against the CEC came within hours of the poll panel expressing dissatisfaction over Kejriwal's reply on the Yamuna 'poison' issue, saying that ‘no factual, legal matrix with evidence has been provided to support his statement.’

The Commission has also directed Kejriwal to file a fresh reply by 11am on Friday. CEC Rajiv Kumar is scheduled to retire on February 28 after a three-year stint in the election body.
