Shiv Sena (UBT) will stay neutral, Uddhav Thackeray not to campaign for Congress or AAP: Sanjay Raut
Jan-28-2025

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut confirmed that Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray has decided to adopt a neutral stance in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Elections.

Addressing queries about Thackeray's participation in the election campaign, Sanjay Raut stated. ‘We are not going anywhere (for campaigning). We are neutral’. He confirmed that Shiv Sena (UBT) would not be actively participating in any campaigning activities for the Delhi polls, despite being in alliance with both AAP and Congress through the INDIA coalition. The decision underscores Shiv Sena (UBT)’s approach to maintaining focus on its core issues in Maharashtra, while steering clear of direct involvement in other states’ elections, even if the contest involves alliance partners.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party (SP) have pledged its support to Kejriwal’s party, while the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde has extended its backing to the BJP. The Delhi assembly elections are set to be a fierce battle between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Congress, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). AAP, led by Arvind Kejriwal, is seeking a third consecutive term after a sweeping victory in 2020.
