Copper futures settle higher on tight supplies
Nov-05-2026
Copper futures settled higher on Wednesday as supplies tightened sharply in China, the world’s top metal consumer. Moreover, a weaker American currency and lower US Treasury yields, following the Democratic Party’s overwhelming win in the US midterm elections, made copper more affordable for buyers using other currencies.

Copper futures for December delivery rose $0.027 to settle at $6.4290 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. However, Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down by 0.18% at $14,011 a ton.
