Gold futures finish sharply higher after post-election dollar tumble
Nov-05-2026
Gold futures finished sharply higher on Wednesday, as dollar tumbled and bond yield notes wilted following a Democratic sweep in the midterm elections. This political shift sparked aggressive institutional buying as investors anticipated legislative gridlock and a more flexible path for Federal Reserve interest rates. Moreover, safe haven appeal amidst looming geopolitical uncertainties also buoyed the yellow metal investments.

Gold futures for December delivery surge by $132.60 or 3.36% to settle at $4,073.00 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold surge by $74.30 or 1.83% to $4,135.00 an ounce.
