Copper futures settle higher on Wednesday
Oct-29-2026
Copper futures settled higher on Wednesday, supported by strong corporate earnings and investor enthusiasm for artificial intelligence infrastructure, alongside ongoing global supply tightness. Copper prices improved further as the US dollar index weakened against its major peers overseas after the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, as expected, making dollar-denominated metals like copper cheaper for international buyers using other currencies.

Copper futures for December delivery rose $0.019 to settle at $6.6715 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.02% at $14,477.50 a ton.
