Copper futures settle higher on Tuesday
Oct-21-2026

Copper futures settled higher on Tuesday following an upward revision by an American multinational investment bank to its end-2026 copper price forecast of $14,700 per tonne and its 2027 average forecast of $15,400 per tonne. Moreover, rising US inventories driven by anticipation of potential import tariffs on refined copper also supported the upward movement of copper prices. Copper prices were further boosted by softer oil prices, while a weaker dollar offered additional support.

Copper futures for December delivery rose $0.028 to settle at $6.6035 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.57% at $14,420.50 a ton.
