Copper futures settle marginally higher on Friday
Oct-17-2026

Copper futures settled marginally higher on Friday as a weaker US dollar made copper more affordable for buyers using other currencies. However, gains were limited by the preliminary agreement at Antofagasta's Centinela copper mine in Chile, which successfully ended a strike that had lasted more than a week.

Copper futures for December delivery rose $0.017 to settle at $6.5735 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.42% at $14,407.50 a ton.
