Crude oil futures end higher as IEA warns of threats to supply recovery
Oct-15-2026

Crude oil futures ended higher on Wednesday after a report from the International Energy Agency (IEA) warned that the recent escalation in attacks on regional energy infrastructure and tanker traffic in the Middle East is threatening to derail a recovery in oil supply. The IEA's October Oil Market Report noted that the recovery in Middle East oil supply was well underway in September, with Gulf crude oil exports approaching pre-war levels.

Benchmark crude oil futures for November delivery increased by $0.95 or 1.01% to settle at $95.09 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for December delivery was up by $0.37 or 0.35% to settle at $106.06 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
