Copper futures settle lower on Tuesday
Oct-14-2026

Copper futures settled lower on Tuesday as a decline in AI and semiconductor-related stocks hurt overall market risk sentiment. Copper prices weakened further after the New York Fed President signalled one more interest-rate hike this year, while noting that he does not currently expect further rate hikes to be necessary in 2027. However, losses were limited by supply concerns following work stoppages at Chile’s Escondida mine and disruptions at El Teniente.

Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.021 to settle at $6.7260 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down by 0.28% at $14,578 a ton.
