Crude oil futures end lower amid easing supply concerns
Oct-06-2026

Crude oil futures ended lower on Monday as higher Middle East crude exports and the G7's decision to release oil stocks helped offset concerns over potential disruptions to Gulf energy supplies. Also, Saudi Aramco lowered the price of its Arab Light crude to Asian buyers by $5 a barrel below a regional benchmark for November delivery. However, the fall in crude prices was limited after Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces launched a full-scale military offensive to retake territory held by the Houthis.

Benchmark crude oil futures for November delivery decreased by $1.68 or 1.84% to settle at $89.43 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for December delivery fell by $1.93 or 1.89% to settle at $100.32 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
