Gold futures finish higher on weaker dollar
Aug-21-2026

Gold futures finished higher on Thursday as dollar and bond yields dipped, following a surprise U.S. Treasury announcement on measures to support bond-market liquidity. Additionally, persistent worries regarding inflation, rising energy/crude prices, and global tensions kindled safe haven appeal of the bullion.

Gold futures for December delivery up by $26.10 to 0.57% to settle at $ 4,571.40 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold rose by $ 15.29 or 0.34% to $4,531.87 an ounce.
