Aug-20-2026
Copper futures settled marginally higher on Wednesday as supply concerns emerged after Lundin Mining lowered its 2026 production guidance for the Caserones mine in Chile following a second severe winter storm. However, some gains were limited by eased immediate supply fears after data showed inventories on warrant in the LME’s global network of warehouses jumped by more than 35,000 tons, the most since 2024. Moreover, a weaker dollar also added support to copper prices.

Copper futures for September delivery rose $0.0035 to settle at $6.4960 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.45% at $14,049.50 a ton.
