Aug-18-2026

Crude oil futures ended higher on Monday as concerns over global supply disruptions intensified amid fading optimism over diplomatic efforts to resolve the Iran conflict. Sentiment was further pressured after U.S. President Donald Trump called for Iran’s surrender and issued threats of military action against Oman.

Benchmark crude oil futures for September delivery rose by $2.10 or 2.55% to settle at $84.5 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for October delivery gained by $2.35 or 2.65% to settle at $90.87 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
