Copper futures settle down on Wednesday
Jul-30-2026
Copper futures settled lower on Wednesday as investors reacted to the Federal Reserve's decision to leave interest rates unchanged, while investors watched for upcoming US PCE inflation report and weekly jobless claims for further clues on the Federal Reserve's next move. Furthermore, worries over rising Middle East conflicts also dampened copper prices.

Copper futures for September delivery fell $0.048 to settle at $6.3115 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down by 0.76% at $13,581 a ton.
