Gold futures finish lower on stronger dollar

Gold futures finished lower on Wednesday, pressured by a firm dollar. Meanwhile, the central bank held interest rates steady, prompting a late-session relief and volatility wrap-up.

Gold futures for August delivery down by $2.40 to 0.06% to settle at $4,036.30 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. Spot gold dipped by $14 or 0.34% to $ 4,053.56 an ounce.
