Copper futures trade higher amid persistent supply concerns
Jul-20-2026
Copper futures are trading higher on Monday amid persistent supply concerns. Powerful storms in top producer Chile disrupted mining operations and port logistics, while major producers like Antofagasta reported output drops. Although, these gains were limited after the US military stated it carried out fresh airstrikes against Iran on Sunday following the deaths of American service members, while Tehran declared that its ceasefire with the US had effectively collapsed and said it intercepted 4 vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend.

Copper futures for September delivery gained $0.0260 or 0.42% at $6.2910 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
