Copper futures trade higher on Monday
Jul-06-2026
Copper futures are trading higher on Monday as softer-than-expected US jobs data and lower crude oil prices led traders to scale back Federal Reserve rate-hike expectations, while tight mining supplies also bolstered the industrial metal. Copper prices also got support as some Chinese funds shifted into metal stocks and futures ahead of expected solid first-half earnings from producers.

Copper futures for September delivery rose $0.0420 or 0.68% at $6.2110 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
