Mar-02-2026
Natural Gas futures traded sharply higher on MCX, due to supply risks due to escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East after the US and Israeli military strikes on Iran. As per reports roughly 20% of global supply could be at risk if the Persian Gulf situation worsens. Tight inventory levels and technical rebound at prevailing levels also supported the positive side.

The contract for March delivery was trading at Rs 267.70 up by 2.06% or Rs 5.40 from its previous closing of Rs 262.30. The open interest of the contract stood at 23991 lots.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 271.30 up by 2.07% or Rs 5.50 from its previous closing of Rs 265.80. The open interest of the contract stood at 2566 lots on MCX.
