Crude oil futures settle higher after Ukraine strikes Russian energy sites
Sep-03-2025

Crude oil futures settled higher on Tuesday amid concerns of supply disruptions following strikes on Russian energy sites by Ukraine in the ongoing three-plus-year Russia-Ukraine war. This intensification of the Russia-Ukraine conflict led to worries of supply side disruptions among oil traders and supported the price on the upside.

Benchmark crude oil futures for October surged $1.58 or 2.47% at $65.59 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for November delivery increased $0.99  or 1.45% to settle at $69.14 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.
