Silver futures fall as speculators trimmed positions

Silver futures fell on MCX as speculators trimmed their positions due to renewed trade deal concerns after US President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on Indian goods starting August 1. Silver rates weakened further after the US Federal Reserve held interest rates steady, while Chair Jerome Powell's comments dampened expectations for a rate cut in September.

The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 111298.00, down by 1.39% or Rs 1566.00 from its previous closing of Rs 112864.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 16206 lots.

The contract for December delivery was trading at Rs 113055.00, down by 1.39% or Rs 1588.00 from its previous closing of Rs 114643.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2025 lots on MCX.
