Crude oil futures end higher amid uncertainty over US-Iran nuclear deal
May-20-2025

Crude oil futures closed higher on Monday. Initially, the crude oil prices showed some weakness as traders took a risk averse approach after Moody's Ratings downgraded the U.S. debt rating by a notch to Aa1 from Aaa. However, crude prices moved up over the course of trade amid rising uncertainty over nuclear deal between Iran and the US.

Benchmark crude oil futures for June gained $0.2 about 0.32% at $62.69 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for July delivery surged $0.13 or 0.20% to settle at $65.54 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.
