Crude oil futures end lower on stronger dollar
Feb-01-2025

Crude oil futures ended lower on Friday on stronger dollar. Concerns about the outlook for demand from China continued to weigh on oil prices. Further, oil prices also fell amid uncertainty about implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump's proposed tariff plans on Canada and Mexico. Meanwhile, markets now await the ministerial meeting of the OPEC nations and their allies, that is scheduled to take place on Monday (February 3).

Benchmark crude oil futures for March fell $0.20 or 0.27 percent to settle at $72.53 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for March delivery dropped $1.2 or 1.56 percent to settle at $75.67 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.
